[Jakarta, LttW] An Ethnomusicologist and our Program Supervisor Agung Waskito died at 55 last night, December 20th 2012, after three months of battle against his intestinal cancer in Universitas Kristen Indonesia Hospital. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
Agung was the Program Head of Sacred Bridge Foundation, in which he was active for 13 years, and contributed to various of its action research program; among others on the Sacred Rhythm Project in Bali, Rising Above the Tsunami project at Banda Aceh, Hugging the City and Hugging the Nature project in Jakarta, the Rhythm Salad project in Jakarta, the assessment of Tenganan’s ritual arts at Bali, and Listen To The World program also in Jakarta.
The Sacred Bridge Foundation family, including Listen To The World, is proud to have known Agung as one of our own. He will be greatly missed.
